6/20/2023 0 Comments Stockings tags![]() Before you just start pulling up the negative space make sure to take your design and bend it backwards and forwards. It’s time to weed our design! Once the infusible ink sheets are cut you’ll want to remove anything that isn’t part of the design… so the inside letters and the excess around our circle. ![]() You’ll cut out your pattern first (buffalo check for me!) and then the names (which are black). Just make sure to “mirror” your design before you hit cut… then select “infusible ink sheet” for your material and you should be good to go. I used my Cricut Explore Air 2, a standard cutting blade and a standard cutting mat… just load your infusible ink sheet (ink side up) onto your cutting mat and you’re good to go. Once you’ve uploaded your file and are ready to go hit “make”. If you do want to use your families names you can use Cricut fonts to design these babies right in the design software. That way if you don’t want to write out your fam’s names you can make stocking tags with your families initials instead. I really wanted to personalize my stockings so I used my families names but I did include allllll the letters of the alphabet in SVG. Now’s the fun part… cutting out the infusible ink! This is actually pretty quick… go ahead and download your free SVG’s from the bottom of this post and upload them in Cricut Design Space. I use the smallest drill bit and then work my way up to a bigger one… ending with the triangle tipped one you see below to smooth out the top edges. It will seem like you’re never going to get through that top layer of porcelain but trust me you will… just keep going slow because the more pressure you use the greater the chance you have of snapping your coaster in half. Use your diamond drill bit and steady (slow) pressure. Once you’ve clamped your coasters down go ahead and start to drill. Although drilling these coasters will make a bit of dust so watch out for that! If you don’t have a work room I use this little portable work table and it’s a great solution to working in your living room. *ahem* no I didn’t do that… too many times. You want most of your coaster to be clamped onto your work surface with about 1/3 of the coaster hanging off the edge… that way when you start to drill you don’t accidentally snap your coaster in half from the pressure. Go ahead and clamp these babies down tight using a clamp with a rubber protector on the tip so that your coaster isn’t damaged. I grabbed a clamp, my power drill, a few diamond drill bits and my coaster. They’re nicely made and quite substantial but they are missing one key ingredient to be stocking tags: a hole to hang from. ![]() I wanted round stocking tags so I grabbed these little round coasters. In order to use infusible ink on this project we needed to grab one of Cricut’s infusible ink blanks to work with. ![]() Step 1: Drill a Hole in your Stocking TagĪlright y’all let’s get started.
